Traffic and pedestrian safety
The developer must take all reasonable measures to protect the public from adverse effects of the work. Particular attention should be paid to the erection and maintenance of temporary fencing, especially in areas of potential ponding. Signs must be erected warning of danger within the site area. These protection measures must be shown in the accepted health and safety plan. Where any work is in or affects any part of the carriageway, footpath, cycleway, walkway, vehicle access, service lane, carpark or other area that the public has the right of access to, the developer/contractor must maintain safe, readily negotiable passage across or around the work site for all types of traffic, including pedestrians, mobility scooters, and cyclists. Access to public and private property must be maintained at all times unless prior arrangements, acceptable to all parties, have been made.
